On this channel you will find just about anything, but one thing is for sure, you'll find a lot of stuff about Ham and CB Radio! Radio is my primary interest and most of my uploads will have something to do with it. Still I find lots of other things to add to fav list, fast cars, jacked up 4x4's, guns, science things, etc. Hope you enjoy some of what I enjoy, 73. AE7QT Rod

AnyTone Antenna Test

Super simple antenna 📡 testing here. No fancy meters, just a second radio with good S meter to see if any difference. The stock antenna 📡 seems to be just slightly less of a performer than the other 2 in this test. Was just a fun little experiment for my curiosity. Hope you found it interesting... 73 AE7QT

Grilling tip
Просмотров 20Месяц назад
Not sure if you have struggled with cooking Meats in the past and had spots that were overcooked and other spots that were still raw. I found that if you cut things down it Cooks a lot more even. Grill time will vary for your foods, here is what approx times I've been seeing. Steak 1/2" thick about 2 min to med rare. Chicken 1/2" thick 6-7 min. Chicken is the hardest to clean off the grill 🙄 Po...
SDRplay RSP1A messing around with it
Просмотров 125Месяц назад
Thought I would just go ahead and plug this bad boy in and play around with it a little bit. I wanted to look at the signal of two different kinds of radios on the scope. my friend told me that the anytone radio is very dirty and he sure wasn't lying. I did not intend for this to be a very in-depth, if you saw something you liked, cool. 73
Semi Pulling out on me.
Просмотров 53Месяц назад
So yes I was slowing down to merge, you know how it is. People just have to hover next to ya, then the truck on the sholder started to pull out on the freeway and things just started to heat up, the brakes that is. Thankfully we didn't meet by accident. THIS IS MY CONSENT TO USE THIS MATERIAL! Believe me I was doing all I could that moment! I think I'm going to have to get some rear-facing came...
Cle Elum WA Truck accident 10/16/2023

I heard a few guys talking about it happen at 2:30 in the morning, at least one of those trucks rolled over. I went rolling through there around 9:23 and didn't have too much delay. 1 of the trucks looks like it was okay enough for the guy just fine, the other truck look like the guy may have had some bad juju happen. I hope he's okay.
Grid Tracker is SUPER POWER HUNGRY!
Просмотров 258 месяцев назад
I have asked around a little bit to find out why grid tracker pegs all my processors to almost 0, puts both GPU'S up to % on one and P on the other. most just give me a cross eyed 😵 👀 look like what you talking about?! So here is a vlog on what my pc is doing with this program. Maybe someone out there has a fix to this madness. In meantime I will run without GridTracker when portable so I can ...

bioenno power battery plus powerwerx converter makes a super awesome team!!! The ppwerwerx puts out 75 watts via USB to charge devices. Impressive so far here in the truck, but just wait until its in the feild... so gonna charge it all up to 💯 for a feild day tomorrow, not sure how many hours I'll be up there, but will be good test for no high voltage supply to anything. we gonna run 0 full bl...
OCFD build from 2 dead antennas
Просмотров 9810 месяцев назад
I used old broken g5rv ladder line and center insulator for the main part of the feed line to antenna legs. I snipped the wires off of OCFD buckmaster, which was pretty good when it was working, and re attached those leads to the insulator on the ladder 🪜 line. Did not use the short tree I pointed to originally. Used my small wood shed to hold the short side of the leg, then the long leg went o...

Hello Rodan in the Diesel Wagon,,,can I use this clip in my compilation? Any comment what happened? Thanks
Holy shit man
Hustler just work with good grounding while mobile.
For you guys that are looking to use content like this I put in the description permission to do so. I'm doing it again here. Yes you may use this content.
Hello Rodan in the Diesel Wagon,,,can I use this clip in my compilation? Any comment what happened? Thanks
Yes, you can. As soon as I saw the truck I started to slow down and attempted to merge, there was a semi truck that was passing me on my left with a car immediately behind him. I tried to get over as quickly as possible, but it looks like he pulled out without looking
Oooof!!
I listened to AK6R give a talk on the Off-Center End Fed Antenna and I probably will get one. Just have to make sure ya don't run the coax under the antenna.
Do you take mail in repairs if so where do I send my equipment to
You know your transmit on bands you should not be on? (TX) 😮😮😮
Recently noticed WSJT-X freezing up on me and tracked it down to GridTracker sucking up my computers recourses. I noticed it happens more frequently on very active bands. When the amount of decodes per receive cycle get's up to 50 or 60 decodes GridTracker is killing system resources. Switch to a less active band with 30 or so decodes per cycle and everything is fine. With conditions as good as they have been recently it's happening more often. They really need to do something about this or someone needs to find a cure and the cure shouldn't be a new gaming level computer.
I use mine as a base, so I just turn the head to face me. No problem with glare or angle. It is kind of lack luster with some HF features like you mentioned with the notch and so forth. My biggest compliant in the beginning was once I programmed all my VHF & UHF memories was skipping a channel with the repeater was acting up. That took some time to figure out which I just don't understand. On my Icom ID-4100A I can skip a channel that is causing problems in literally 3 seconds by pushing the quick key, turn to skip and push the knob. Done. I don't have a problem with the scope. Of course I would love for it to have full color, a live scope and so forth, but I could have bought the FT-991A instead. It is always a give and take. I just love how Icom programming works. My other gripe is when I am using memories I have to use the small clicker knob to change channels. That is kind of annoying. I am definitely ordering the HM-151 microphone so I can do a bunch of stuff from the mic. There are my two main complaints, 1) skipping channels 2) memory channel requires clicker knob. Thanks for posting. KC0LRM, 73's!
End effect.
Nice set up so if you use it with 100w only how much power are you losing? Ware you able to make good contacts or you need to run it with much more power ?
I have the same issue 😢
Krav Maga time💀☠️☠️☠️
I'm going to be picking one up around the middle of next week, buying the remote tuner as well. Hoping it will be a good combo for my new Labb 599 TX-500. I was wondering who you drive for and your call sign, I drive for Shaffer and the call is KC5JSR, look forward to seeing you in the logbook. 73'!
Please make a video on how you set up FL Digi to do cw nobody has made a video on that
+1
You lost me when you refer to S-units as "POUNDS"
Note: As im sure someone else has pointed out. Instead of running your copper wires to the low side … run them up closer to where you’re going to hook your antennas up to. I think you’ll find that you’ll have better results running a signal through the wire than through the bracket. Just sayin. Either way really it shouldn’t make too much difference.
Thank you for the video I watched one that done the first step then went off on something and did not finish on how to save it
Post mount the antenna no tree's PlZ ground it video on the web 🕸️
Coax clamps on wire nice and neat make a brace dont let it sag 😅

Annoying and useless review. You haven't got a clue what you are talking about.
Sounds like you smoked the balun.

I ordered my F-Loop Plus system yesterday and can't wait to get it setup and on the air. Living in Alaska, I am curious on the performance of many types of antenna systems for portable and transient operations (I mostly like doing POTA but also enjoy working the bands at home, with the same radio). I bought the MPAS 2.0 antenna system from Chameleon back in June and it performed wonderfully from Juneau, Alaska. I am not in Anchorage, Alaska and now I am seeking an option to play radio from my new apartment. Thank you for your videos and their content as you videos, and others, have helped me solidify the choice to choose Chameleon over Alpha Antennas.
awesome video!!! very informative
Hi ! May I use your clip in my video with credit and link ? What happened before-after this ? Where did this happen ?
That nice with that little loop antenna
Que antena vertical tu usaste en esa prueba
If that is a fan dipole, then you have a _really_ good antenna. 3:28 - You just unknowingly named a television station in Victoria, BC.
Yes sir big rig radio got me getting out there. I'm happy with my little get up i got from them.
SGC made great antenna couplers, sad to see they are out of business now.
What's your call sign? KE7QT?
Wow, that’s a cool looking cb. Where can I get one and will it fit in a FLD.
Well first off I have to say it's actually a ham radio, and secondly that would be too much money to spend for just a CB radio. But if you really want one of those radios you can find them at a ham radio store, you will have to figure out how to modify it yourself. It doesn't come working on CB radio. But the rest of the bands were pretty dead so I figured I would try that channel real fast.
I am sure that it would fit in your truck no problem, I'm sure it would fit in a hundred thousand different situations. It's fairly small and fairly light and has its own battery or you can plug into external power. It is a Swiss army knife * 10, that radio is just absolutely amazing. The only thing about it is, it is a qrp or what they call very low-power radio. It does 10 W on sideband and FM, and about 2 W on a.m.
ok I have had that same antenna for 10 years. My son won it at hamvention. My wife and I got a camper so I am ressurecting that antenna and I want it to be my primary antenna for 40 and 20m. (I really only need those bands) I cant get the damn thing to get a swr under 1.7 under 40m.. and moving that jumper on the coil makes it jump. What is your trick because if I am reading it right your IC-7600 says you got a 1:1 match on 40m. Which is AWESOME.
The mustard and garlic behind the potato. Just add as much or little sauce and spice as you desire.
What is this antenna for cb or something else
Yes and yes. All the ham bands and cb radio. All of these are correct
What did you put on it. This video didn't show shiiiiiiiitttt
Hi! Can I feature this video for my youtube edit? I'll credit you with watermark on screen. Cheers!
Yes you may, enjoy
Some people’s children
Are you sure you doing it right?
I did and no problem with it. Check it out some time. Just come up and relax in my garden. I have a multi meter, and many swr meters. Plus flowers that need some mr.bug love... 😅
Thanks, I'm new to this and it explained everything without having to read the manual, VE6GTX
I agree regarding 146.52 but back in the day in was used much more.
Desk mic on 2/440 ftw!
What band was the vertical tuned to and what were its characteristics? Absurd and invalid comparison, IMHO. EA7HJ.
